Player Maintenance

Pre-Playing Preparation

  • Check all valves/slides move freely
  • Apply valve oil as required and ensure tuning slides are correctly seated
  • Empty any excess moisture before playing
  • Inspect mouthpiece fit and case contents

Post-Playing Maintenance

  • Empty water keys and remove moisture from the instrument
  • Wipe exterior lacquered surfaces with a soft cloth
  • Remove mouthpiece and clean with warm water when required
  • Store securely in the supplied case

Monthly Geneva Cleaning Regime

  • Clean mouthpiece thoroughly using a mouthpiece brush
  • Wipe and re-lubricate valves and tuning slides
  • Check screws, valve caps and water keys
