Anne Oelers

Anne Oelers was born in Geleen (In the Netherlands) on 9th of August 1989. She was 8 years old when she received recorder lessons at primary school. When she completed her lessons and achieved her Diploma, she was allowed to choose an instrument and so chose the trumpet. When she was 9, she received her first trumpet lessons from the former principal trumpet of Philharmonie South Netherlands, Hub Nickel.

When Anne graduated from High School, she auditioned for a place with the trumpet class of the Royal Conservatory at The Hague. She was just 17 years old when she moved to The Hague and become a trumpet student with Huug Steketee, principal trumpet of the Residential Orchestra of The Hague. A year later Anne also got trumpet lessons from Ad van Zon, former principal trumpet of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. She graduated in 2011 for her Bachelor of music with an 8,5 and 2 years later she graduated with a 9 with a Master’s in Music at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
During her studies Anne took part in masterclasses with Frits Damrow, Peter Masseurs, Max Sommerhalder, Gert-jan Loot, Peter Mönkediek and many more.
She also took part in many solo competitions such as ‘Prinses Christina Concours’, European Soloist Competition and won many national competitions as a soloist.

Since 2011 Anne has been a professional trumpet player working in orchestra’s all over the Netherlands and also abroad. Also, she is a member of Brassband Schoonhoven and has played Principal Cornet since 2017 which she very much enjoys.
Anne plays the Geneva Symphony Cornet.
