Rothwell Temperance Band

The present Rothwell Temperance Band was formed in 1984 as the junior band to the existing Temperance Band. In 1989, with a full complement of players and new instruments, they were able to enter competitions as the Rothwell Temperance B Band. In 1991 they qualified for the National Finals in the Fourth Section and gained second place.
Following the appointment in 1993 of MD David Roberts many successes followed including 6 consecutive appearances at the National Finals, the pinnacle being qualification to the Championship finals at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999 in which the band gained 6th prize.
Over the past 34 years the band has continued to win many major titles including, Yorkshire Area , Grand Shield, Senior Cup, All England Masters, Swiss Open and Pontins.
