Rod Franks: A Legacy in Brass

Born in Shipley, West Yorkshire, Rod Franks began his musical journey in brass bands, studying with esteemed teachers before moving on to command the Principal Trumpet chair of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1988 he joined the LSO, later sharing—and then holding outright—the principal position. Beyond performance, he was deeply committed to teaching and inspired generations of trumpeters
